Samsung calls it multi channel audio I believe. Yes it can be disabled
this isn't a permament workaround but you could try Lesser AudioSwitch. You'll have to sideload it though
Check your TV settings - my TV has an entry to enable/disable speakers.
My other thought was to plug in some headphones and ignore them - maybe that'll disable the TV speakers.
