happening on my Sony Bravia 2015 too. Pita , handy library system
Happening on my Mi TV4 55 inch as well. Exactly started crashing during the same time frame. I use it to play media from my NAS drive hosted using smb. Anyone know any similar app or workaround to fix this?
I have the same problem both on my shield and my two nexus players. It looks like archos has not been updated for over a year. So the only solution atm seems to be to switch over to nova.

Very strange. Changed nothing and it started crashing 2 days ago.

Have to do with some update on Android tv. Thats the only thing that makes Sense.

Same issue here.
Something to do with it grabbing the descriptions from the web. There may have been a server side change. If you clear all data for the app and start over you can turn off "auto get description" and use it. But you lose the obvious functionality and just have a video browser.
