Sideloaded apk doesn't show up on my tv.

I downloaded X-plore and logged into my google drive account where I put the apk. When I click on it it copies the file to "temp" and then allowed me to install and access the app. But when I back out of X-plore it doesn't show up under my other apps. Any help what I'm doing wrong?

edit: I should also mention that it show up as installed on x-plorer's App Manager. The tv is a Xiaomi Mi Smart TV 4S.

It doesn't have an Android TV icon set up.

Download and use TV App Repo to create a shortcut.

Try going to the apps section of the settings menu and launch it from there. It should then become available in the regular tree.
