Disney+ works on Razer Forge!

by Guibster

I was very disappointed that my Toshiba TV's built in Chromecast did not support Disney+, even though Chromecasts are supposed to work. So with very little hope, I dusted off my Forge TV earlier, which can't even run Netflix, and to my surprise I was able to directly install the Disney+ app from the Play Store and I can even cast to it like a Chromecast (which again doesn't work with Netflix)!

Unfortunately it's only in 1080p, but I'll take what i can for now...

Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time...a long time.

Seeing the spec... imagine this with a 855 or 865, hm...

Cool find! Nice!

IIRC, there was a custom rom way back that spoofed MiBox build tags and had Netflix enabled. Wonder if it would still work for you.

props to Disney, that's how you support a platform, and not like Netflix and especially Amazon

It's kind of insane that D+ requires 1.36 casting platform as even Google's first party app don't. I feel like if there is enough pressure by TV makers Disney could lack that maybe.

Also not totally surprised that you can cast to your Forge as Google updates the back-end casting platform for AndroidTV just through the Play Store.

Where is the Disney app? The Disney+ app says my Nvidia Shield is incompatible...

It works on my near no name brand Jetstream box from Walmart too! They really want people on Disney+

My wife's Galaxy s9 wouldn't see our Android TV on our 5Ghz said, even if she was on the same SSID. I moved the TV to the 2.4ghz and it could see it, no matter which network she was on.

My Pixel 3 XL can see it no matter which network the TV is connected to.
