Mi Box S is pretty much the only other option beside the Shield.

Avoid the Mecool KM9 Pro Classic, it has really bad 2.4GHz only WiFi.
You said watching Live TV and movies!! What source? Streaming? Cable TV?
I'm delighted with my Mibox 3 s. If you are not into Gaming (the mibox can play basic games quite well but the Shield is more high end) and on a budget, it's a no brainer. If you need extra connectivity you can get a USB hub+ethernet. Apparently the jetstream from Walmart is also worth considering if you are in us
There is an excellent store where you can find the SwitchOnShop tv box for myself. This is not the first time I use it and it is smart in every sense, you can easily find everything there, so study this whole thing, I think you won’t be disappointed.
MiBox is fine for streaming. Even a firestick 4K is OK. The mibox is better. Shield best, but likely overkill if you dont wanna game or serve plex, just streaming the mibox does a great job. Pay attention over the next few weeks and you will find the mibox for %30-35(currently 59).
If you need ethernet, Jetstream is basically the same as mibox for $70 link
