This part of the tv is cut off and I have no idea what to do. Only for screensaver.

Mine did that today. I'm sure it will be fixed. Seems like a server side mistake for the screensavers.

Firstly try looking for an aspect ratio / overscan (or named similar) like option in tv settings. Change this to dot-to-dot, Just scan, 1:1 or 16:9 if you can't find it. Tvs also have a screen mode( can be named anything) that can be set for device types. You'll generally want a pc type for smart boxes.

If your tv doesn't have any of these options, then you could adjust the over scan settings in your android box. Should be under display settings

bentripin

What device? on shield you can adjust overscan

I've got the same problem on my MiBox 3 since yesterday.

NontitledParent

Go to Setting>Display>Screen position>Zoom in

It actually affect everything. It was just very obvious with the screensaver but I also noticed it on Youtube

On a similar topic, is there a way to turn off the ‘chromecast built in’ text?

skiesalve1

I don't think so it's a Problem cause my TV is also showing similar cropped text but all the other apps works fine

DirkBelig

Noticed this last night on my SHIELD TV. Only on screensaver.

3choBlast3r

This is new since the latest update. Dont worry about it everything else works fine

Edit thought this was r/bravia... yeah seems like this is a Google issue. My Sony bravia does the same thing

niclariv

Weird! Just happened on my TV, a Sony Bravia A8F, settings can’t be changed for that because if I press any button on the remote the sceensaver goes away. Very strange because the software on the TV hasn’t changed since it was working fine (no update). It’s not plugged in to an android box, it’s running it internally.

Poor_And_Needy

Same issue here. it wasnt an issue until recently. The screen is fine everywhere else.

will_decide_later

I saw the same thing yesterday.

This is an overscan, which exists in ALL televisions. Play with zoom settings (of the TV!) until it's fixed. In my Samsung TV I had to change the HDMI input type to "Desktop".

Also, android TV can compensate by "zooming out". It's somewhere in the display settings.

Therealjpizzle

Same with me today

RoboAddy

I noticed my uncle's A8F doing this today during a visit. Haven't noticed it on my own X8000D.

LJAM96

Most likely the aspect reason/ overscan settings of your TV

I'm on the Nvidia shield and using the beautiful Aerial screensaver which is the awesome drone footage screensaver found on Apple TV devices that has been ported to Android. You can easily use something like APK pure App Store to sideload it. I'm not an Apple fan in any way, never owned a single Apple product but that screensaver is undeniably the best available screensaver anyone could use for the Nvidia Shield.

anyway I'm not having this issue with my shield and that screensaver at all. Still looks beautiful as always.if you have not tried the aerial screensaver yet I highly recommend it. It looks way better than the shields screensaver.

I just noticed the same problem on my TV, but this looks like a server problem rather than a TV or device one, I don't have overscan problems.

fcf21pearl

Same here. It happens after Google web view update... Even my YouTube have it a bit

kabomber

Same here on gen 2 chromecast

DRTHRVN

48 hours later - this has not been fixed.

protik7

Google messed up another update. Why I'm not surprised?!

k_ipman

I noticed mine Fixed itself today on Shield TV.

Now I am not sure if it happened automatically or after I was playing around with other screensaver options (Mapee, Colors, etc.) yesterday.
