Best alternatives to Mi Box S?

by Calvinf746

Hi guys, I've had the Mi Box S for about 2 months now running 8.1 using 2.4 ghz wifi and it's just not up to scratch, my wifi keeps dropping out when i stream and i can barely download any files. Do you guys have any ideas as to what alternatives i should get? Nothing as expensive as the shield but better than the MiBox? Thanks guys.

If wifi is just your problem, then get a USB to ether net adapter. Works way better!

Nothing if you're not including the Shield.

Might be cheaper to buy a better router than to upgrade to a Shield.

I have a shield and a Jetstream. I have a mibox too, but it quit working, which is why I bought the jetstream. I have been happy with the Jetsream box, but happier with the shield. I probably should have gone with a second shield, but was trying to save a few bucks.

Use a USB Lan adapter

Shield dongle when it releases

The streaming box is not your problem here. You will likely experience the same results even with a shield if your wifi environment is terrible. I would be looking at your router placement or even possibly adding some mesh access points to strengthen your wifi.

For the most frustration free and stable streaming experience, run ethernet.

Shield TV is the only answer here.
