Philips OLED804 - Any way to disable buil-in chromecast?

by BenjiSBRK

I just got a new Philips TV and I would like to disable the built in Chromecast on it. I have a standalone Chromecast and I prefer to use this instead. To avoid any confusion when casting, I'd like to disable the TV one, like I did with my previous TV (Sony).

The problem is, on that new Philips TV, there's no way to access the "application" Android parameters. It seems they restricted the accessible parameters on that TV. Any way to do that ? With adb maybe ?

Did you try this ?

Settings -> Apps -> scroll to "System apps" -> Chromecast built-in -> Disable

Just rename the device?

I found a way with adb :

adb connect [my tv ip]:5555

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.apps.med iashell

Why do you prefer the standalone Chromecast? Isn't it the same?

Hey. I dont know if solved.

Frequent settings - manage apps - see all apps - scroll down - show system apps - chromecast built-in - disable and force stop. It helped me.

ps i have oled 805 with latest update
