I would like to have a small remote at my office table so I can control the basic TV functions without having to bring over the remote from the couch.
I was thinking something small and simple with just the basic menu, volume and back buttons thats BT and preferably lasts a long time between having to charge or swap batteries.
Any suggestions?

I have the fire tv remote which works pretty well, but waiting to see if i can use the one plus tv remote, build quality looks a lot nicer
I think you should pick up the mibox remote. Its bluetooth and has all the functions you are looking for. I saw a deal for around 3€ on ebay but you might even find a better one.
Have you tried the Android remote app? I've pretty much given up on all of the remote and exclusively use my phone.
I've seen a lot of people recommend the WeChip G20. It's not Bluetooth, though, so it will take up a USB port on your device for the receiver.
