My guess is there is a monthly fee or a one time lifetime fee for the tv guide haha
Remember, TiVo is not the same TiVo of the past. The horrible patent troll/DRM troll company Rovi bought them and then renamed the whole thing to "TiVo". They are a shadow of their former selves, and it shows, badly. I can't imagine this being anything good for anyone.
When I think of TiVo..I think of DVR. For $50 and its size - not sure if this can do that locally. Maybe DVR option in the cloud similar YouTube TV or SlingTV?
Regardless, not sure why this would be better than something like a $35 fire TV 4k stick.
Device will basically be almost the same hardware as the AirTV Mini. Same manufacturer too.
I think they are aiming for this to be an alternative to the TiVo mini, and not a true Android TV experiemce.
