I've noticed a similar issue with Patriot Act, it was just jumping random episodes, but I guess someone just messed up on Netflix side.
Ours doesn't jump to last episode, but it won't do binge mode... Very annoying

I think it's a per-series choice by Netflix. They seem to sometimes do it with non-linear ones.
Regardless, it's nothing to do with Android TV.
I was watch S03E02 of Hip Hop Evolution and it went to S01E01. There were still 2 episodes left. The same thing happened after S03E03. Seems to work with 13 Reasons Why Season 3 though.
Gonna be that guy and ask if you tried to clean cache/data and log into Netflix again to see if the problem persists.
