Stream a Youtube playlist to monitor (AndroidTV or ....)

by KetosisMD

Looking to have a collection of 5 min videos play in a loop from an Youtube playlist. This would be a dedicated device that only does this. It would be like a TV .. but in my waiting room.

Any ideas of what technology + apps that would accomplish this ? I'll use whatever hardware i need (android, PC, etc).

if not available how about a USB device that just plugs into a monitor and plays the videos in sequence ? in a loop.

Sorry for such a noob question 🤷‍♀️

All help appreciated.

If this isn't the best sub, where can i find such information ?

You are probably better off with a raspberry pi

It may be worth posting in r/hometheater, people there can be very tech savvy.

An easy way would be to use Chromecast. Just plug it into the TV and cast YouTube from your phone or computer. I'm not sure about making the videos loop, though.

Also, not sure about looping, but if the TV is a smart TV, you can download the YouTube app and play videos.

I don't know how hard it is to set up a raspberry pi, but I know you can program them to do just about anything.

So, I think your biggest issue would be the looping. Mess around with the YouTube app and see if you can get it to loop your playlist and if you can make it look nice on your phone/pc, a chromecast would probably be cheapest/easiest.

You can make a playlist on Smart YouTube app and have videos loop minus the ads. just a thought.
