55PUT7303 Not finding Bluetooth headphones?

by JustCallMehWhatever

Hey guys, first post in this subreddit. Just wanting to see if there is anybody out there who knows why my Philips tv won't pick up my headphones when they're in Bluetooth pairing mode. They worked with my old Philips tv. Model is in the title, and my headphones of choice are the Sony WH-1000XM3's. Thanks in advance, and feel free to request any info!

PS: both the tv and my headphones are up to date software wise.

I think I have the same TV - it does not support BT headphones. It only supports different BT profiles like mouses, keyboards and controllers (and maybe some Phillips headphones). It is very frustrating and I truly hope fixable by a simple software update, however I don't think Phillips want to do it. I believe the only option right now is to get some sort of BT to 3.5mm jack dongle and plug it in the TV.

At first, I thought you made a typo, but it seems not. I have the 55PUS7303 and it seems it's identical to yours in specifications. It might be a region thing. I previously had the 43pus6412. Neither of these TVs worked with Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth sound bars. It seems the Bluetooth chip inside lacks the audio protocol. Their Bluetooth support is limited to input (like game controllers, for example) and not much else. It's a bummer, a big ass TV like this with advertised Bluetooth support should be able to do this. Seems not. I might be wrong, but I think it's software support and not even hardware, thus it could be solved by Philips with a software update. Again, I may be wrong.

I solved my problem with some Sennheiser radio headphones . They have a base that charges them and plugs into the TV via 3.5mm jack cable. The base broadcasts audio to the headphones via FM radio, basically, and you can switch between 3 channels. The audio quality is not for the audiophiles among us, but does the job. I've played video games, watched movies and TV series on them and they're fine for the price.

There's an app in the play store that lets you connect the headphones in a2dp mode. Can't remember the name right now but it exists. That's how I managed to get mine working

Edit: apparently not on the play store, I remembered wrong.
