Netflix errors on Philips Android TV

by pseudozach

I constantly get -118 and -100 errors on my Philips android TV and I need to restart from menu to get Netflix to launch or start playing.

Lately, it has gotten to the point where soft reset doesnt help so I need to plug out the power cable and plug back in.

Netflix customer service walked me through the usual troubleshooting steps and told me to call TV manufacturer which fills me up with rage. Because it's clearly their app having issue with android.

Anyone else have the same issue or maybe a magical solution before I factory reset?

It's the tv. The built android is terribly underpowered. Get a firestick or android box.

Try the "Reinstall TV" option first, if that doesn't fix it your TV is most likely broken.

Smart TV is not suitable for streaming services. Limited processing power, slow navigation and few options for customization, Slow update speed. Smart TV is best served as a display.

I get the same errors on Jestream 4K all the time, funny thing is that it does the opposite - it plays only 4K content but everything which is not marked as 4K by Netflix spits out an error

I always recommend streaming sticks to streaming TVs. I always tend to ignore the operating system on the TV and use it mainly as a display... I just hook my Mi Box S to it and I'm good.... No problems with any of the services.

Which model is this?

I have a Bravia running Oreo - while I never had any problems with the Netflix app, all other weird issues I had (including screen flickering, wireless issues, not waking from sleep) were fixed by factory reset.

What TV model is it? My Netflix on the PUT7303 works flawlessly.
