Horrible banding since day one with the shield. Even on menu backgrounds.

I have two shields (gen 1 and gen 2)on two different 4k tv’s.

All hdmi. Both wired with etherent to home network.

None of that shoukd matter though because the banding happens even on the main menus.

Anyone else have this issue???

unsure what banding is (guessing its visual lines on the screen like interference), but i can only suggest the generic troubleshooting options.

  • try different hdmi cables
  • try different tv's
  • try other devices like xbox on same tv's to see if they have an issue too
  • try playing around on the shields video settings, maybe its not set to the right refresh rate or resolution

This can happen if your HDMI cable is too long, or not rated for 4k.

If that's the case, try some of the high spec cables from https://metrahometheater.com/

or other DPL labs certified products: http://www.dpllabs.com/page/dpl-full-4k-product-certification
