Mobile app on Android TV?

by markstopka

Hi,I have a TV streaming app for Android (part of my Internet + TV subscription) for a phone called PODA.tv , but it't for mobile (and tablet) only, my neighbor who is a foreigner has Mi Box with Android TV , I downloaded the APK using Downloader for Android TV and installed the APK manually as it does not show in Google Play store; however, after installation, I can open the app, it works quite well (navigation sucks but whatever), however once I exit the app, it's nowhere to be found in Application menu on the Mi Box, so I was wondering if there may be some clever trick how to make this app show app in the application menu, instead of reinstalling the app every now and then I want to launch the app?

Go to Setting>Apps>'Name of The App'>Open.

or the simplest thing to do is to install 'Sideload Launcher' from Play Store. Then you can see all your sideloaded apps.

You can make your own app launcher for sideloaded apps that don't show on your home screen. All you need is the package name (which you can find in settings > apps ~ it will be com.xxxx.xxxx with the Xs being the proper name), and a logo pic (you can use any .png pic that you want).

This is where you can make it: http://atvlauncher.trekgonewild.de/index.php
