Anyone have Chinese parents?

by kkunjujiki

Looking to buy a Nvidia shield for the chinese parents and need to know what's the best way to get live and/or on demand content. I don't feel like paying a monthly sub for it and just looking to side load some apps or use kodi.

I would ask /r/cordcutters for sources of Chinese content

I think it’s kinda the wrong place to ask. If Chinese parents meant they are Chinese live in China, then asking on Reddit where you can’t legally visit isn’t logical. If they were in America or somewhere not so Chinese, then being a Chinese shouldn’t be a factor of this question at all.

Shield or any other AndroidTV is overkill in this situation.

Best bet is get a Xiaomi MDZ-21-AA from Aliexpress. Cost including delivery to Canada is about $US50. Be sure to specify proper power supply for Canada.

Most all live content and VOD is free and available in multiple dialects.

Already configured for overseas Chinese and about 60% of the pre-installed content will work in Canada without VPN or any need for sideloading.

Look no further.....

Good luck

I just asked my parents and they said they aren’t Chinese so I can’t help.

There is this app you can get live TV: http://www.5itv.tv

r/addons4kodi should know about foreign content on kodi addons.

Also look into streaming apks. Cyberflix is pretty good.

If you give me a couple titles of shows, I'd search in my kodi and let you know.
