Wechip remote and Mi box

I bought this remote pretty sure it was going to work with my Xiaomi Mi Box (UK version, not the newer S model).

But on plugging the receiver into the mi box I get no response.

Plug it into a Win10 laptop and the remote works perfectly.

Anyone have this remote working with a Mi box, am I missing something when getting this working with androidtv?

My normal mi box bluetooth remote works fine but I wanted a remote that had a keyboard and air mouse.

RESOLVED ### switched off developer options (usb debugging probably causing the non working of USB) and all working! Apologies for wasting time and thanks for the comments

I have the mi box and we chip remote.

It works nicely.

I even play angry birds with it sometimes. Fairly accurate. Keyboard works too

Thank you for asking this I had turned on USB debugging last night to get a remote app working on my phone on the mibox and our wechip remote wasn't working today so been trying to figure it out and just happened to come to reddit and search wechip and found your post. You are a life saver

Ive never been able to get air mouse working in mibox i dont think its possible

As you can see mate the description says android TV Box not android TV, the first one is a mini PC running normal android (for phones), which has support for mouses keyboards etc. I don't think android TV itself (the OS running only on TV) has the same type of wide compability.

If anyone thinks I am wrong please correct me.

i have this remote it ok but the keyboard is not that good the signal is horrible everything else is great i use this remote for my shield i never tried it on my mibox S i have another remote for the mibox is called AuviPal G9 Backlit Keyboard Remote Combo this keyboard combo is actually better it responds faster with the key press "but" the first day i got it the usb thing which i forgot the name of it broke i had to fix it and bend it back in place not cool but it works
